More about Stem Cells and why you should protect them

One of the newer technologies and "buzz words" in skin care lately is Stem Cells. It is a really exciting technology based on some really interesting research. We've put together this article to help you understand more about the stem cells in your skin, and why you should protect them.

The human body contains many different types of cells. Among them you can find "adult stem cells" which are essentially “blank" cells, that your body can “format” to repair, replace and regenerate surrounding tissue as it ages or is damaged. However these adult stem cells (as opposed to ebryonic stem cells) can only "differentiate" or divide so many times to make new tissue due to what is called an "operational limit". So as we age, the number of Epidermal (skin) stem cells needed to create healthy new skin are significantly reduced and function less efficiently. Combine this with added environmental damage like UV rays and other factors, and lost or dying skin cells begin to outnumber their replacements and the skin’s health and appearance starts to decline (loss of skin vitality, wrinkles and other signs of aging). There is a finite supply of these stem cells, so for those of us who are concerned about slowing the signs of aging, it is imperative that you protect the ones that you have. This was not something that until recently, was even possible. But fortunately, science has found a solution to this problem, in nature.

Like humans, plants also have stem cells, but unlike humans, certain adult plant stem cells have no "operational limit" on cell division, and retain the unlimited developmental potential that embryonic stem cells in humans possess. For example, the Uttwiler Spätlauber, is a nearly extinct variety of apple found only in Switzerland. While still on the tree, these apples have the ability to heal themselves from injury, and once picked they have a shelf life months longer than any other variety of apple. Scientists found the key to this rare apples' longevity to be its unusually resilient stem cells, and they investigated whether these cells could be harnessed to slow the aging process in human skin. Using a special process, a revolutionary new extract was developed. This extract regulates the activity of the genes and cell function, actually increasing the longevity of human skin stem cells. The results when used regularly; skin that has a more youthful and radiant appearance.

After years of research, GM Collin has developed an advanced anti-aging serum, which combines the technology of Phyto Stem Cell technology with other powerful anti-aging ingredients and antioxidants. Together this compound works to harness free radicals, brighten the complexion, soften and smoothing the skin’s texture, while lifting, firming and reducing the overall appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

In addition to offering a few treatments that utilize Stem Cell technology, we also carry Phyto Stem Cell Serum, Cream and eye contour creams for ALL skin types. Regular use of these products have been shown in clinical studies to reduce the total surface of wrinkles by an average of 33 -56%, and up to 97% depending on skin type. These studies have also shown a reduction of the total number of wrinkles by an average of 33 % and up to 92% (again depending on skin type). Other remarkable improvements in firmness and hydration were also recorded. In contrast to many of the anti-aging skin care products out there, it is recommended that you begin use of Phyto Stem Cell products early on (in your thirties), before the aging process has really kicked in and you still have plenty of adult stem cells in your skin left to protect.
